Does it run on Intel Macs?
Yes. macOS 14.0+ on Apple Silicon and Intel.
Where do I get LumaTake?
Exclusively on the Mac App Store — coming soon. One subscription unlocks
every feature, billed through your Apple Account. Restore Purchases with
your Apple Account, and manage or cancel anytime in App Store settings.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Recordings, projects, and exports stay on your disk in
~/Movies/LumaTake/ and
~/Library/Application Support/LumaTake/. No telemetry,
no cloud account.
Can I livestream to YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook?
Yes. Add a destination's stream key and go live over RTMP or RTMPS with
your camera, screen, mic, and system audio in one feed. The live encode is
also saved to ~/Movies/LumaTake/, so you can edit and
repurpose it right after.
Can I use my iPhone as the webcam?
Yes. Continuity Camera is detected explicitly in the camera picker. Pick it just like any other webcam.
Can I edit captions after recording?
Yes. Caption text is editable in the inspector. Edits flow into the
live preview and the exported MP4. Filler-strip and per-word karaoke
timing keep working through edits.
How does the click-to-zoom work?
Clicks are captured during recording, sandbox-safe and without
Accessibility permissions. The editor reads the sidecar file and shows
each click as a draggable moment on a dedicated timeline track. You can
change zoom factor, hold duration, or drag the focal point on the preview.
Can I redact sensitive info?
Yes. Drag privacy blur regions before or during recording. The blur
applies at frame time, so the original pixels never reach the file.
Blurs are Space-aware on full-display recordings.
What format does it export?
MP4 with HEVC video + AAC audio, plus GIF export for short shareable clips.
Does it support multiple displays?
Yes for full-display recording; the region picker covers the main display only at this time.
